A dead remote or a keypad that suddenly refuses the right code gets blamed on the opener itself more often than it should. In reality, the fix is usually much simpler — a fresh battery, a quick reprogramming pass, or clearing interference from a newer wireless device nearby.
IronGate Garage Services works through remote and keypad problems for Athol, NY households by narrowing down whether the fault lives in the handheld device, the outdoor keypad, or the receiver built into the opener, well before suggesting you buy anything new.
The remote only triggers the door from a few feet away
Entering the code on the keypad does nothing at all
One remote out of a set has gone completely dead
The keypad's buttons or backlight have quit responding
You need existing codes wiped after misplacing a remote

Questions About Garage Door Remote & Keypad Repair
Why does my remote only work standing right beside the door?
That's typically a sign of a weakening battery or an antenna problem inside the opener's receiver — either one shortens the effective range without knocking the remote out entirely.
I lost a remote and I'm worried someone else could use it — can you help?
Yes, we can erase every code stored on the receiver and reprogram your remaining remotes and keypad, which shuts the lost device out for good. Call 1 (833) 652-7571 to get this scheduled.
My keypad won't take the code I've always used — why?
Worn-down buttons, a fading battery, or a code that got reset by accident are the usual suspects. We check each one before ever suggesting a full keypad replacement.
